Is there anywhere on campus, or walking distance, to store anything over the summer? Mostly the foam mattress topper, sheets, blankets, towels…no sense to ship that stuff home (3000+ miles away).
The students are told that there is no on-campus storage during the summer. It looks like quite a few of the OOS students group together with friends to rent off-campus storage units. In the past, at least, the ResLife office has had a list of local facilities.
There used to be a company (unrelated to the college) that advertised on campus for summer storage. They offered pick up and delivery. You might check with the housing office to see if they know whether that company still services Vassar dorms.
Tell your S/D to go to ResLife- they have a list of storage places. As otisp said, many kids club together to rent a storage pod.
If it was my S/D, I would also point out that it would have been helpful if they had noticed the fair in the student center with people from different storage places that took place about a month ago…
