Storrs vs. Stamford...

I was admitted to UConn Storrs, but have recently decided that I don't feel ready to go so far away from home (Storrs is like a 1 to 1-1/2 hours away from my hometown)... so I have opted to go to the regional campus of Stamford... the only thing I want to confirm before I make the OFFICIAL switch is that Stamford has my intended major... so can anyone on here tell me if Stamford has a Pre-med concentration or at least a major in biology, preferably in physiology and neurobiology? Thanks a million to anyone with an answer...

If you want to be pre-med, I would not start at a regional campus. They appear to be regarded as less prestigious, almost like community colleges, and are often the places where people who apply late are forced to attend. You want to go to Storrs if you want to be part of a highly competetive group of students like pre-med students, and everyone going for a 4 year degree ends up at Storrs to finish, regardless.

Wow, this should be easy....Storrs by a mile. Your profile says you're from Bridgeport, which is roughly 1/2 hour from Stamford. So because of an extra 1/2 hour-1 hour you don't wanna go to Storrs? You would be with more competitive students, and you'll actually have a social life.

Storrs is way better. The science classes are more rigorous at the main campus.

thank you all... I guess I'm just scared to leave home and I'm looking for excuses. The more I evaluate the situation I realize there's nothing here for me...

poisonivy, you should realize though that for the most part (not saying 100%, but most) people at regional campuses are just people who wish they got into Storrs out of HS. You're fortunate to get into Storrs, take advantage of it. Besides, you'll be at Storrs for your Jr+Sr years anyways.

I see you must have graduated years ago, I hope all went well.
