Straight to UCSD, or transfer from a CCC to UCSD?

I'm an out of state student. I was accepted to UCSD, though lately I've been thinking about saving money (51k for a year is ridiculous). There are a lot of advantages to going to a CC first, like saving money. Plus my mom would be about done paying off the house, and maybe I'll get residency for tuition purposes by the time I transfer. I'm worried, though, about not being accepted as a transfer student.

My questions are:
1. What's the difference between the first two years in a University versus a CC?
2. How hard/easy/whatever is it to complete the transfer requirements?
3. What are the transfer rates for UCSD?
4. Which would you do?

I can research this and all, but I want many perspectives before I make my final decision. Thank you!

Oh. And I’d like to know if I’d be able to use AP credits to cover some transfer requirements c:

Bump! Lala.

Go to a CC. You can get a tag to ucsd in two years.
