Strange Circumstances...

I am a US citizen living in India... both my parents are Indian citizens and work in India ....
How do I go about filling the FAFSA and PROFILE ? Does any one have any experience or knowledge regarding this .... ?

Are your parents dual Indian-US citizens?

no only indian citizens

how are you a us citizen?

Hi there. The answer is that you apply using the FAFSA (and Profile if necessary) just as any other US Citizen. When it comes time to list your parents' income and assets, just convert the figures into US $ and report them that way. Be aware that colleges may ask for a copy of the Indian Saral to document the income you are reporting.

thnx .. but how about the questions that ask for the Social Security no. of parents and the State Of Residency of parents ... does anyone know anything about that ??

Sure. Again, you would provide Foreign Country (or FC) for state of legal residence, and leave the SSNs blank if your parents do not have one.

THANK you so much .... i was troubled by this since so long .... thnx again
