yesterday I received an e-mail from the JMU admissions office saying that my application was never completed and I should send it in by the 15th of Jan. I have numerous e-mails including the "check your status" e-mail confirming they received all materials by the end of October for early action. I sent my admissions counselor a note and hope he can clear it up. Do you think I should call the admissions department or do you think that would be too many inquiries?

hopefulnj, My son applied ea too. He got the same email. In fact, it was yours that tipped me off to have him check his email (and there it was). I already called JMU. The office is very busy and I was on hold for about 10 minutes (not too bad for this time of year). The person said that 10,000 of these emails were sent out! No wonder, there office it so busy this morning! My son also has confirmation of a completed app. She double checked and everything was in order. She could not explain the email. The interesting part was that they show him having opened one account (the one they claim is incomplete) and another account which documents the completed app. See if the account on the email is the same account that you sent the app under. In any event, it did not matter and they informed me that my S will hear mid-January.

Yeah...my admissions counselor already got back to me and said everything is o.k. Not sure why it happened either.

i got one too--so everyone should just ignore it?

mine said my app had been "idle" for a while, though i submitted it over a week ago.

I got one too, must have been a glitch...

Actually, from what i've read/heard, sometimes the people working in the admissions office misfile some of the materials sometimes. Thus the same name is entered twice and leads to confusion. This is also why it takes so long for schools to start going over the admissions materials, since they want to make sure that this hasn't happened.
