I was wrong as to what forum page the Questbridge information is on. That thread is on the College Admissions page. Sorry.

I think that Questbridge just might be perfect!!

Senior09,

I hope you'll keep options open to good schools that might be out of the geographic range you are now conidering. I understand your concerns and think it's great that you are so thoughtfully considering your siblings' needs, but by the end of April when you are making a decision, you might find that they are doing well and you won't need to come home so often.

What are some schools that meet 100% of need and are realistic admission matches?

And Senior, what kind of school environment would be ideal IF you had no one to think of but yourself?

ReneeV, I think you might be right about the geographic area thing, but I don't know if I could go through with going so far away.

IF I were to have ideal school settings it would be a medium-large sized school, beautiful campus, snow in the winter, great academics, with some prestige. If my stats were better, something like Yale would come to mind.

Chicago started participating in Questbridge last year. Senior09, go take a look at the Questbridge threads from last year to see what advice and experiences others have had. We know of a couple of folks who have gotten into some fabulous schools via the program.

The Notre Dame "family" is unbelievable.I'm confident money will not be an issue for you at Notre Dame or any of the elite schools lucky enough to enroll you.

If your ideal is Yale, you really, really should be checking out the University of Chicago which, in addition to being in your preferred geographic range, is very similar to Yale in many respects, and is certainly the college most like Yale within 1,000 miles of you. Northwestern, too, of course, but you already know that. And if you are willing to loosen the reins just a little bit, Washington University in St. Louis and Vanderbilt are both good possibilities, too, and of course Notre Dame, as I and many others have already said.
