Strange question: Allergies in Eastern vs. Western Washington

I'd appreciate any input on this topic:

I am right now considering University of Puget Sound and Whitman College (I will probably end up at one or the other, slight possibility of Lewis and Clark College).

I love both schools equally. They both have their advantages and disadvantages. I would be happy at either and I'm having a really hard time deciding which I prefer.

But today I thought of something as I had to down some Benadryl for my horrible Colorado allergies:

Do allergies tend to be worse in western WA (Tacoma/Seattle) or in eastern WA (Walla Walla/Tri-Cities)?

I've been to both Tacoma in both summer and fall/winter and Walla Walla in only the fall. I had no problems at either, but I'm really worried about Spring in the two locations-- does anyone know which is worse for allergies (airborne/pollen/dust)?

I'd appreciate any insight.

hi, i live about 25 minutes away from tacoma, but i dont suffer from allergies so i really cant tell you much about the pollen here from my personal experience, but i found some websites that might help. you can click the different types of pollen and see the peak season for each one.

walla walla:
http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/allergies/weather/tenday/99362?from=36hr_outlet_allergies

tacoma:
http://www.weather.com/outlook/health/allergies/weather/tenday/USWA0441?from=36hr_outlet_allergies

if that doesnt help, you could try posting this in the UW board; most of the people there are from washington and they might know more about the allergens in the different areas than i do. good luck!

thanks a ton! I wondered about posting in another forum. I'll definitely check out that website.

is socal a good place to be if you're a birch pollen allergic? is there a lot of birch trees there?
