Would getting recruited to a school with a BS/MD program for athletics increase your chances of getting in to the program, if the student is already highly qualified academically?

Just wondering :)

Never met someone like that.

In the hypothetical scenario where they exist, what are your thoughts?

Hypothetically, it would help. I think if you are both academically and athletically strong, then your chances can only be better.

-Not at all. But I know only about one school. D. did not apply to all, she was not recruited at all either. One very popular bs/md rejected her pre-interview. Coach was heavily after her, she even spent overnight with the team and was sitting thru thier practice. However, there is no communication between coach and bs/md program. Even the fact that D. was accepted to this UG with the biggest Merit award possible ($27k/year) did not make any diff. However, on a positive side, she ended up at this Med. School anyway, after applying Regular out (applied out of bs/md that she was accepted at UG that ultimately was a perfect choice for D.)

Just stay flexible, open to various opportunites, things can work out in unpredictable way and to your advantage also.
