I was just checking MyMIT to see if my mid-year report had been processed or not, and I noticed something weird. It says that Evaluation B was processed on 01/18/2005, but my teacher sent it out sometime around 01/15/2005(!), so there's no way it could've reached MIT in time, let alone get processed. Also, the evaluations from the same teacher didn't reach any of the other schools I applied to.

That's weird - are you sure your teacher didn't send it a bit earlier? Processed just means that we put it in your file, so I imagine that could happen very close to when we receive it.

I'm certain he didn't. Besides, all the other schools haven't received his recommendations so I think they got lost in the mail. I'm going to get him to fax all of them tomorrow, but I'm afraid it's too late for MIT (since I'm not an int'l applicant). :(

The only explanation I can think of is that MIT used my counselor's (a previous math teacher) recommendation from the secondary school report instead, which is fine I guess, but my teacher's recommendation is SO much stronger, since he taught me 3 different subjects for 3 years.

Gotcha. Yes, unfortunately it's too late, as your file has already been to committee... I wouldn't worry too much about a single rec though. It could have helped in the context of the overall app, but a single thing is unlikely to tip the scale.
