As I understand it, we are supposed to bring a strap for the BCGs. Sent Nick to the local optometrist and they didn’t have anything (at least not anything in solid black). Any clues on where to find these things?

I asked our optometrist the same question. They suggested I look at our local independent pharmacy. If our pharmacy does not have one, I am confident he will be able to order one.

You might try the really cheap places like Walmart or the Dollar Store. They actually are pretty common. I always wear one to keep my glasses on when I ride the roller coaster at Six Flags.

Come to think of it, I did see sunglass straps at the sporting goods store. However, I recall they were not ALL black and looked "sporty".

Is anyone else out there that found the eyeglass strap? If so, where?

I got them at a local optometrist store when I visited Taiwan for winter break. I guess that wouldn't help much. However, you could always buy it online if all else fails. There are many sites and this is just one of them:

Perhaps you can improvise by painting the words black with a black sharpie to back the BCG strap solid black.

What if I just have reading eyeglasses? Do I still need to get a black strap for these?

I found the eye glass saftey strap at Dunham's Sporting Goods for only $1.99!
The manufacturer is "Unique Sports Products inc." model # EGH-1.

I could not find this product on their web sight however, I did find it on http://www.planosportscenter.com/proddetail.asp?prod=Eyeglasshol%5F199&cat=180
