<p>I made NMSF. I am applying ED to my top choice college, but it is not on the NM list of participating colleges (ie for giving scholarships). Should I put this college as #1 anyway, so that the NM people will inform them that I got NMSF, since the honor may help me to be admitted? Or should I put my 2nd choice and 4th choice colleges as the 2 "top colleges" for NM, since these two are on the NM participating colleges list? Which is the strategically better plan?</p>
<p>It doesn’t matter what you list now. It only matters in the spring when scholarships are awarded. </p>
<p>But if you are applying ED to a school, they should be listed as your first choice, since you are making a commitment to attend that school if admitted. Even though they don’t participate in the NM scholarship program, you can win the $2500 NMSC award that can be used at any college.</p>
