PPE and IR are both 16 c.u. majors, so while it is possible (there will potentially be a lot of overlap between the two) to do a PPE/IR double major, it isn’t very easy. PPE has become much more of an independent major in the past three years – in the past it endured a lot of criticism for being a “triple minor,” but there have been significant changes in the past four years. Now there are specific PPE courses, not just crosslisted courses. [School of Arts & Sciences - University of Pennsylvania](http://www.sas.upenn.edu/ppe/Requirements/PPEmajor/general.html) … that’s the program.

PPE is a major that many freshman intend to pursue but don’t wind up completing – myself included. Often a student will take courses in one of the three areas of the major and realize that they want to study that area, not the other two.
