Strength, Recognition, and Difficulty of BME for FFSEAS

Hi so I have a couple of questions about the BME program for FFSEAS. If there are any current SEAS students lurking around some answers would be really appreciated.

I'm a senior this fall and I am really interested in applying ED for FFSEAS, specifically because I have an interest for the BME and because I love NYC =)
However there are two main things that I am worried about for this program. I've looked up Md/Phd programs for top 20 institutions but I haven't seen many Columbia FFSEAS graduates studying there, let alone any BME majors... Do BME graduates usually end up at lower tier Md/Phd, Md, graduate schools??
Also how difficult is the BME major? I mean it can't be as difficult grade wise compared to JHU BME, but is it impossible to achieve a gpa of 3.6+? Relatively how many students achieve such a grade?
I've tried looking up information on the Columbia BME website but I didn't come up with much so any answers would be really appreciated. Thanks.

if any of your questions arent answered by my post there or any of my posts when you do a thorough search of "BME" or "Biomedical Engineering" let me know. I'm a senior BME student.

Also, its SEAS not FFSEAS. :)
