Hi! I'd just like some feedback from enrolled UCSD students who took summer classes. How was the pace and stress level of the classes? In particular...

Summer 2013: Physics 1C/1CL (Summer Session II)

Summer 2014: Chem 6C/7L (Summer Session I)
BILD 2 (Summer Session II)

I'm just a bit worried about the stress it may cause me since these are science classes, and science hasn't always been a forte of mine, and the the time span of these classes is about 6 weeks compared to a quarter which has 9 weeks, which much mean the work load must be heavy... but is it doable? Or will I be killing myself with sleepless nights like I'm back in high school? (Considering if I ideally don't procrastinate?)

I took Chem6c last summer with Prof Hoeger and I must say, it was a piece of cake! One thing I’ve noticed about the 5 weeks vs 10 weeks thing is that the pace is actually exactly the same: instead of say, 50mins of class every monday wednesday friday, its 1hr20mins monday to thursday so its not like they’re cramming a week’s worth of lectures in a normal quarter into one summer lecture. Also, this may depend on who’s teaching but in Dr Hoeger’s case, there are less exams in the summer quarter: a normal chem6c class with Hoeger has 2 midterms(both have multiple choice AND free response questions) and 1 final (MC+free response) vs summer class has 1 multiple choice midterm, 2 short free response quizzes and 1 multiple choice final. However, there is a midterm/quiz every week so you have to keep up with the homework. Plus, its a summer quarter so the class averages are usually lower than in a normal quarter

This is very helpful in considering the Chem 6C class!! Thank you so much apollo69!!! Now to see the views on physics and bild 2. >_<
