Stress?

How do you deal with stress in college? What do you do to help yourself chill out?

I like play-dough. I can smash it all I want and it just makes me feel better. I also like to color. It's such a great, mindless activity. It lets me empty out my brain and focus on nothing but staying in the lines.

How 'bout you?

I do progressive muscle relaxation, and breathing excercising, and tai chi.

tai ji quan

Yeah, qi gong / taijiquan / etc. is very relaxing.

I get on my computer to play pinball and spider solitaire and listen to music. Sounds dumb but it doesn't really require much effort and it lets you drown out the world. A good book is nice too, but sometimes it makes me feel guilty because I feel like I should be reading homework instead. One of my favorite ways to relax, though, is to go on a nice long walk.

This will probably make me sound like an alcoholic, but if I'm really stressed all I want is some liquor. After finals are over and such, it's time to go out and get a little tipsy. I can't do just mindless things like playing around on the computer by myself, when I'm really stressed, or I'll just go crazier.

I'll bet you do, goat. I'll bet you do.

Just walking away from stuff and going out to eat or just talk to friends takes away stress for me.
