I just recently started to research colleges a little and TCNJ caught my eye. It is definitely first on my list of colleges for engineering . But I’ve been stressing a lot about getting in. My current GPA is a 2.89. Im a sophomore so I’ll take my SAT next year and want to score a 1300 or hopefully higher. I dont know if it helps but I also play football and do track.So will I hopefully be able to get in?
I’d work on getting your grades up as best as you can because an upward trend will be your friend. I’d also begin to reach out to the coaches if you would like to pursue sports in college. Send them an email and introduce yourself. With D3, the coach can maybe help push admissions to accept you, but if there are other players/athletes with better stats and equal athletic talent, they will get the nudge. Also, TCNJ seems like they look at more than just numbers. Being a Bonner Scholar participating school, the value community service, so if you are not involved with your community, see what you can do that might help them want to choose you. Also, your essays will be influential. All that said, you are a Sophomore now, so finish the year out strong and work hard junior year. If you have a chance, visit TCNJ when they have an Open house or schedule a tour. It’s a great school
