Stressed about my major: CS or Mech Eng?

Hey guys, I'm stressed because I'm unsure on what to major in. I've always been interested in the idea of mechanical engineering, but was kind of overwhelmed by the level of math and physics. I love math, but didn't know if I was good enough.

I'm currently enrolled as a freshman as a CS/Math student. The summer before I became interested in programming and did taught myself some basic stuff, and really liked it! Now that I'm taking some classes on it, I'm really not liking it as much as I thought I would. I'm not sure if it's hard because I'm bored, or I'm bored because I find i difficult. But I LOVE calculus, and if I could I would do that all day long lol.

Now that I realize how passionate I am about mathematics, I'm starting to re-think my original decision about M/E, but I'm still somewhat apprehensive...Should I just stick out CS and see if it gets better, or should I take the leap into M/E? Any input would be appreciated, thanks!

Have you taken any of the physics courses (the ones for physics and engineering majors)? Mechanical engineering is based on physics like mechanics, fluid mechanics, and thermodynamics that will be introduced to you in those physics courses.

I’d make an appointment with the school psych counseling office ASAP :)

If you love math based engineering courses, in addition to the ME classes above there’s all kinds of synergy in areas like solid modeling, finite element analysis, and the like.
