The AP tests are going to be administered in May, and I have an ACT test that is coming up in April. There is limited time that I can use to study and prepare for all these very important tests that are coming soon. I bombed my last ACT with a 26 since I was not well prepared. Out of all the four AP classes that I am taking this year: AP English Language, AP Calc AB, AP US History, and AP Japanese, AP English and Japanese are currently my weak spots. The ACT test will of course be my first priority. But for all the AP tests, I do not know how to prioritize them. I want to score well in both the AP English and AP Japanese since I am going for a language or international studies major when I go to college, and I want to show my language strengths to the colleges I am applying to. But in which AP test should I focus more of my attention on? I can probably score around a three on the AP English test, and I just started studying for AP Japanese at the beginning of the semester, so my score won’t be great. How should I prioritize these tests? Can you guys give me some ideas?
Time to hit the books! You still have a little over a month until your ACT. Don’t worry so much about the time you don’t have and spend more on the time you do have. Your ACT will most likely be more important than your APs, so prioritize that right now: find out what was wrong with your last ACT and make sure you are doing everything you can to fix those mistakes. Take a lot of timed practice tests. Try to finish your homework as fast as possible (while still retaining the content), and spend your time studying for the ACT. You can do it!
If your AP classes don’t prepare you well for the AP tests, talk to your teachers and see if they can help, or you can just self study. I can’t really tell you which AP test will be the best for you,but I would personally spend more time studying for the English language.
Good luck!
Thanks @mvxesque ! You are a great help! I have decided to reschedule the ACT to June. It is really too much work to handle. In the meanwhile, I will focus mainly on my AP English Language Test revision and do preparations for other AP classes as well.
