Hopefully this doesn't intrude on anything here on CC or overlap another thread.
I'm almost done with my college applications and have been super stressed with deadlines, essays, homework, my senior research paper, etc. It's an awful amount of stress, so I just need somewhere to let it go and relax.

So... yeah. I'd love to just have a thread that's not all about admissions or deadlines or SAT scores. I declare this thread stress-free! :)

Hello…prity cool thread, I think I need this too, I have so much to do, these college applications are driving me nuts.

I have my Dartmouth ED results in less than twelve hours. It’s really weird thinking that this will determine the direction of my future.

@drcharisma
Yeah, I didn’t think I would be nervous about decisions but purdue gives theirs in 6 hours and I’m fairly anxious to see if I got in

I’m getting my Purdue decision as well along with Stanford’s. But I know I’m not getting into Stanford so just worried about Purdue.

Yeah I got my Dartmouth ED results. I failed; I got deferred. Welp.

Perhaps this may be a blessing in disguise. I always wanted the opportunity to apply to Swarthmore, and my deferral lets me ED II to it.

Got into Purdue!! Good start

I’m not worried about not getting into any of the colleges I applied to since I have average stats and the schools are not top tier or anything like that. The problem is I doubt I can afford anything besides my state’s public.

@GhostyOne
I totally understand how you are feeling right now. It’s an awful feeling…
I have the same issue. Getting accepted to most of the schools I applied to doesn’t worry me, it’s paying for it that’s gonna hurt. It’s very painful to realize that something as trivial as how much money your parents make could have an impact on your education. I don’t know how I can help ease the anxiety, to be honest, I’m still dealing with mine. I’m hoping beyond hope for a significant enough scholarship to go to an OOS that I love, but I’m trying to come to terms with going to my state public. Feel free to let anxiety out here if you need to. :)

@SameerHussain Congrats on Purdue! I got in as well (maybe I’ll see you there if that’s where I end up!)
How did Stanford pan out?

It seems that we’ll just have to deal with this feeling until March (when the FASFA student aid reports start coming to us). I am thinking of emailing a college’s financial aid office to get a more accurate estimate than the NPC gives. I’ll post about it if I get a better estimate of where I stand. It’s too bad this isn’t Europe.

@ARandomGeek . Didn’t get in, as expected. Congrats to you as well ! I’m applying to a few other colleges more selective than Purdue. So hoping to get into at least one more.
