Stressing about my chances of getting in

I just got done with my junior year of high school, and I really just floated my way through this year because this was an intense year with testing back to back, sports, & AP classes.

I tried my hardest but the stress & fatigue caught up to me, I feel I could have done better this year, I finished with 1 A, 4 Bs, & 3 C. I know that most colleges look at your junior year so I feel like my chance of getting in just went way down.

My current GPA is a 3.4 out of 4.00
I've been doing Track & Field and Cross Country since 7th grade & thats one of the reason I want to go to UGA since they have a good program for both.
I'm involved in FBLA
I live in Georgia
11th Grade: 1 A, 3 Bs & 3 Cs
10th Grade: 3 As & 5 Bs
9th grade: 4 As & 3 Bs
SAT: 1790 (Retaking in the Fall, along with taking the ACT)

My Cumulative GPA (unweighted) is a 83.136

Next year (senior year) I've decided to just do 2 AP Classes (AP Macro & European history) & just take average classes for the rest (Forensics, British Lit, etc.)

The only other college I'm interested in is University of West Georgia, but my mind is really set on UGA

So what do you think about my chances of still getting into UGA?

I think you’re fine. I would be surprised if you were rejected. You aren’t what I imagine would be a strong candidate for EA, but considering the people I know who got accepted, you’ll get in.

I know two people who got similar scores as yours. One got in and the other got rejected so based on that, I think you have like a 50% chance. Thats just from what I saw though so don’t take me too seriously. :)

Based on your GPA and test scores I def would not do EA. Since your GPA and scores are low for UGA so you need to really focus on your essays and recommendations. Make sure your essays are well written and try for something unique that will stand out. Also make sure your recommendations are from teachers who know you really need stellar recommendations. Its going to be tough. Good luck!

I’m going to try 100% to get all A’s for the first semester of my senior year (which is going to be a tough challenge) & study hard for the upcoming fall ACT & SAT & then send in all my stuff to UGA in December.

BTW Thanks, your comments kind of eased me a little. I just need to show them that I am determined & deserve to be a part of their school. Hopefully everything falls into place
