Race: African American

I'm applying to Harvard, Yale, Brown, Amherst, BC, Georgetown, Notre Dame, Middlebury, Stanford, & Swarthmore.

So what are my chances? Senior year just started a little less than 3 weeks ago but it may just be the beginning but I'm already not doing well in a couple of my classes. When do colleges look at senior grades? Especially if I'm applying early action to 3 schools? If my GPA drops a little but not drastically (to around a 98) and I am taking 5 AP courses this year... does it make a huge difference?

You’re grades look awesome, and so do your activities. Your test scores are a little low for the top schools, but you will gain a huge boost being African American. I would give you around 30-40% into your top schools.

my strategy regarding test scores is that for G-Town & ND, they dont look at the writing portion for the SAT so I’ll just submit the 1410, and for the others my ACT. I also took the ACT again yesterday so I’m really hoping for a 32, and my number 1, Amherst takes the highest subsection in the ACT (which I have taken a total of 3 times now) and the super score would be a 32 then. Anyway, thanks for replying! I really appreciate your input.

I would give you a 40-45% chance for your reach schools and a 99% for safety (don’t want to guarantee anything). You have great stats, grades, and ec activities. Perhaps you would consider taking the SAT ONE more time? In October? You scores are far better than mine are, but then I’m not applying to any Ivies. I wish you the best of luck in your admission process!
