Stretching truth on alumni relation?

I have two great uncles (brothers of my grandfather) who went to Cornell but on the application it only allows you to choose between parent, grandparent, and great-grandparent. Is it ok to put my great uncle under the grandparent choice? Also, does alumni relation really help that much?

Great uncle might be too far away.

Do not stretch the truth on your application. Cornell tracks legacy admission, and if you’re caught, you do not know what the consequences will be.

Cornell considers legacy a parent, grandparent and great-grandparent on the application, nothing else (siblings do not count either).

Don’t do it - it’s not worth it. Two of my uncles attended Cornell (one undergrad, one law) and I never mentioned it because uncle wasn’t an option.

Ok thanks for the info! I’ll just leave it blank.

siblings don’t count as legacy??? crazy!
