We drank during lunch period…frequently..and my lowest grade was still a B+. Not sure what you guys are on.

Sorry that I’m worrying so much. My grade in AP Chem is a D+/C-. If I get another D on the final (which is possible) and end up with a D in the class, will I get rescinded if my other grades are mostly B’s (with a few A’s)?

To the topic creator, you’ll be fine, someone from my school last year going to Cornell had several Cs for final grades and never heard anything about it. As long as you don’t get a D you’ll be fine.

I’m glad my final grades are higher than usual though so I have no worrying, as I’m sure I’d be understandably nervous if one of my grades had dipped, even though realistically there is almost no chance of anything happening with a single C.

Now to the post above mine, I dont know, a single D you may be fine, but you may have to explain it. Rescinding is fairly rare though and I don’t know exactly what it takes.

they’ll rescind your admission if you totally fail out of school. getting a C wont kill you. straight Ds or an E? yea maybe. they just want to see that you are keeping up with your grades and dont just quit working as soon as you get in.

A bad grade in one class is understandable- maybe you just have trouble with that particular subject. Several Ds/Cs in high school is not really excusable. I’m pretty sure Cornell rarely rescinds admissions. If you screw up bad enough to have your admission rescinded, chances are you probably deserve it.

Ended up with 2 C’s, in Spanish and Physics. Hopefully nothing happens.

Wow, arent you all lucky. I worked really hard, made sure all my grades were up to par for the remaining of my sr year… passed all AP with flying colors, & had to declined some very good schools. I have to wait for the GT for my sophomore year. I would do anything to be in your place…

I have word from the Cornell office that AP’s are not looked at for final admission (neither are IB scores). As for C’s, there is not a set policy. if you plan to major in Biological Sciences and get a C in Biology, there may be a problem. It is best to talk with the department head. If it’s a nonrelated class, then it should be alright, provided you don’t receive multiple C’s. Also take into account the difference between your first semester and second. If you had straight A’s the first semester and multiple C’s the second, it reflects badly on your determination to finish your classes.

When I was a senior I got a B+ in AP Physics…I’m still on academic probation :(

^ I hope you are kidding…
