I just got my STRIDE! Also postmarked the 13th, and it's already in California...

Anyone else looking up flight information for April 15? :D

Anyone else looking up flight information for April 15? :D

I received my STRIDE today as well! It's also postmarked on the 13th and I live in Washington.

I got mine today, too. I live in Florida.

So is the 15k really all I can receive for STRIDE? That kind of makes it impossible for me to go to school there. :-(

andalusia, the 15k a year for STRIDE is part of your financial aid package, not necessarily all of it. You'll get the rest of the aid package when your official acceptance package arrives.

So now the question is, when will those official packages be sent out?

I just got my STRIDE letter yesterday :)

New York
SAT 1400/1600
---- 2090/2400
ACT 32/36
Weighted Average: 101.2
Rank: Top 2%

The full packages will probably be sent out with the rest of the acceptance letters on March 20th.

I got my notification that I got the Stride

Thank you borgin! I started to get really worried there.

Smith College sent my daughter an email today telling her that her admissions decision would be available online on March 20th. The notification date on Smith's website is April 1st. Does this mean that they are admitting her, and letting her know in advance of the official date; or does this mean that they have decided not to admit her and are clearing her application from their system?

Hi, does 6p.m EDT mean the -4 hours time zone? If I live in the +7 hours time zone, then I will know the decisions by 5a.m on 21st March, right?
Thanks

@Prairie: this is simply because they are posting and sending their decisions on the 20th, not on April 1st. Definitely don't take this to mean that she's been eliminated, as I received the same email and I was admitted with a STRIDE yesterday. :)

@ngocanh9a: Eastern standard time is actually the -5 hours time zone, so you should find out by 6 am (unless there is some sort of daylight savings vs. standard time issue?)

Its simply the date for everyone.

I don't think nonmerit grants are gone - we got one ED and a very small loan as well but the majority of the aid was grant and not merit based. Also if you get FA you have priority for a campus job.

So 5 PM central time? :|

Actually, EDT is in the -4 time zone if you're going by GMT. EST is -5, but we're in daylight savings time now (hence EDT, eastern daylight time). So yes, ngocanh9a, it will be at 5AM your time.

And yes, squaregirl, 5 PM Central time, 3PM Pacific time, and so on and so forth.

Hello!
i was wondering if anyone here on CC is already a STRIDE scholar. How would you describe your experience? How's the workload, the professors?
I got accepted to the program yesterday, and if I attend Smith, the offer seems too good to turn down!

I was just wondering if Smith offers any other scholarships besides the STRIDE and Zollman scholarships. I just got admitted but I can't find any of Smith's scholarship information besides what they have on the website.

keai - I was wondering the same thing...

I guess I'm just wondering if I still might get a scholarship or if I should quit hoping since obviously most people already got theirs. I just noticed that cgaylemarie and a few others just recently received letters. Also, does smith limit the number of scholarships per school? I already know a girl from my school who got one.
