I recently learned of the American Studies major and have become interested in it. It seems to fit my interests well and is applicable to my desired field of employment. However, as a less discussed and less known major, I have had difficulty finding information about it. Searching this forum, I only find one thread with American Studies in its title and that was two years old and not actually focused on American Studies. As such, I ask here if anyone knows of schools which are strong in American Studies? A list of those offering it can be found using the US News Major search under Ethnic Studes > Area Studes > American/United States Studies.

Brown, UMass Boston…just to start. I haven’t researched others. I absolutely love the UMass Boston curriculum in American Studies.

I would check out these schools that offer American Studies graduate programs. You may find a school in your region with a strong program:

Claremont McKenna and USC both have American Studies programs/majors.
