Strong Chemistry and Physics Program with a Strong Ballet focused program?

I know UC Irvine has had students with double majors in dance and physics and dance and chemical engineering. (I’m not sure about dance and chemistry, but it’s certainly possible.) There are Nobel laureates and former principal dancers for major ballet companies on the faculty. Dance majors may take five levels of ballet, repertory, partnering, pointe, mens class, etc. Grads have joined elite ballet companies and science majors have gone on to prestigious Ph.D. programs. There are merit scholarships (most go to men) and a Campus wide Honors program.

Other places to consider that offer strong ballet (or modern with ballet) programs open to non-dance majors, as well as excellent academics including the hard sciences: Barnard (can x-register at Columbia), Goucher, and Connecticut College. And others to consider: Vassar and Mount Holyoke.

Also, another option to consider: Attend a college or university in large city like Boston, NY or other areas where very good pre-pro ballet schools are nearby. These type of ballet schools usually offer quality open classes led by top-notch teachers. (Like Steps on Broadway, Boston Ballet, etc.)
