I haven't had much luck with my previous threads, but hopefully this will get more responses. With my stats there is little to no chance that I would be able to get into NYU, Columbia, or Barnard, but I'm looking at:

Fordham
Eugene Lang
Hofstra
SUNY Purchase
Manhattanville
Wagner

Based on location/chance of admission only. Can you give me any opinions on these schools and their Communications or English programs? Or any other schools in the NYC area that would be good for Communications, Journalism, English, etc.

Well, my big brother is entering his senior year at SUNY Purchase, and seems to like it. Although it is generally focused in the arts, my brother, who is studying journalism (as well as photo journalism), really enjoys his classes and has become very interested in his field.

Thanks for the reply. The only thing I don't like about Purchase is that it's kind of...ugly, campus-wise. I'm still considering it, though.

If you want to go slightly north, Marist has a great communications program. It boasts a very nice campus as well, with most of the buildings being built within the last 10 years...

Manhattan College
Iona
Pace
LIU

I don't know if I can be that far north, to be honest. Thanks for the other suggestions...

What are your stats? Fordham is also pretty difficult to get into (42% admission rate)

Fordham is my reach school. I've posted stats threads, but I'm about to go to bed, so just search my posts if you really want to see them?

^ Too far north. Although I may have to go somewhere further away for a year and then transfer, but I'm trying to avoid that.
