Strong EC, Weak Academics: Babson, UPenn, NYU, Bentley, USC

Hi there,
I'm a high school junior, an immigrant from China. I like categorizing things, so let's categorize things.

Reason for Asking

I'm looking to see what my chances are at these colleges, despite awful academics. (I don't expect UPenn to be anything but a "reach to the sun")
Babson / UPenn / NYU / Bentley / University of Southern California
AREA OF STUDY: Entrepreneurship / business

Academics

Mostly honors classes. NO APs. (Taking AP Stat next year.) BUT:
**GPA: 3.3/5 weighted >_>/b

Standardized Testing

Writing: 650
Reading: 660
Math: 710
— Total: 2020

Business Extracurriculars & Leadership

**As an entrepreneur, I have started 8 businesses since freshman year in the technology sector/b
— 2 of them have successfully exited, and have made great revenues
— 5 of them I currently am working on
— 1 of them basically failed

For my business work, I've
— been on the front page of the Boston Globe
— had businesses of mine featured in magazines

Otherwise,
— spoken to 1,100 people (350 in attendance, 750 streaming online) at a tech conference
— organized 200-person conferences about technology
— built online advertising systems, etc

School-Related Extracurriculars (leadership only)

Only listing leadership positions here.

Note: JSA Northeast State is a student-run (adult-backed) debate organization encompassing the Northeast USA: New England and New York.

— Freshman Year: Freshman Representative, School Council; Director of Web Services at JSA Northeast State

— Sophomore Year: Sophomore Representative, School Council; Secretary, Debate Club; Co-President, Investing Club; JSA Massachusetts Director of Publicity; JSA Northeast State Assistant Convention Coordinator

— Junior Year: President, Debate Club; Co-President, Investing Club; JSA Northeast State Convention Coordinator (Wikipedia: "The Convention Coordinator controls all three conventions throughout the year..." organizing the 3 large 700+ person conventions in the year)

That's about it
Thanks for reading! Let me know what you think my chances are.

To make it easier for you, just copy and paste
Babson:
UPenn:
NYU:
Bentley:
USC:

Babson: Good chances here, I think your personality and desire to be a businessman will shine here. I would say this college would be the best one on your list for you in my opinion.

UPenn: Reject ( sorry to be blunt)
NYU (Stern): Reject ( again)
Bentley: Second best pick on your list IMO. Pretty good chance.
USC: Low Reach/Reach

I think that because you are a succeful businessperson in high school you will receive great credit! However, I think that NYU and UPenn are reaching with your staats. They like to see that you attempt to take the hardest classes possible (or so I’ve heard), so you’re a little weak there.

I applaud you on being succesful whilst in high school and you have strong leadership. Business is obviously your passion and you excel in that area. Although being an immigrant CAN improve chances at top-tier schools, here’s what I see for you:

UPenn: Reject (sorry :()
NYU: high Reach/ Deferred
Bentley: Match for you
USC: I think you’re in! (or have a good shot)

babson likes a strong AP senior schedule

UPenn, USC, and NYU are reaches. I don’t think you will get into UPenn. I think you are a match for the other ones. ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ has good stats on some of those schools. I would also suggest on posting in the ■■■■■■■■■■■■■ forums because there are students from NYU, Bentley, and Babson that post there.

Thanks all.

I don’t expect UPenn to be an option.

Yeah, I think your EC’s look great, and lol I like to categorize things as well! The GPA isn’t the strongest, but hopefully the admissions committee will see your EC’s as golden. Try and retake your SAT’s if possible!

Chance me?http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/695607-wrong-me-fall-love-these-schools-chance-me-tell.html

Hopefully you’re running for Northeast Governor of JSA at Spring State soon.

Thanks. I will be retaking my SATs very soon.

No, I am not running for Governor.

Edit, AP stat may be out of the question, because of red tape.
