Strong Engineering Programs

I am looking for universities in california with strong engineering programs(BS and MS). I'm interested in Software E and EE. Thanks for any advice. :)

Stanford
UC-Berkeley
Cal Tech
Harvey Mudd
Cal Poly-San Luis Obispo

Thank you, do you what ranking Harvey Mudd has?

^ Harvey Mudd is a superb institution. Don’t worry about “rankings” - they are all dubious. A Harvey Mudd degree will be respected.

Wow, that’s certainly a dubious ranking to say the least. SJSU is more of a high school than a true college.

^ It’s for electrical engineering…being in the heart of the Silicon Valley doesn’t hurt.

^^ It also has excellent software engineering programs. I would never go there because the student life is awful, but some of the academics are good.

Rankings of colleges who do not offer graduate degrees are largely meaningless in engineering. They simply can’t be compared to research universities in terms of faculty, resources or student body selectivity. Cal Poly and SJSU are simply not in the same league as Stanford, CalTech or any of the top UCs.

That is a very interesting list you have there UCBChemEGrad, I’ll consider looking into each of those universities. Thanks :)
According to what cellardweller stated: do universities that offer a MS in EE have a better EE BS program?

definitely not, what makes you think that?

I just meant that universities with MS in Engineering would have more resources.

Harvey Mudd (along with Caltech and MIT) is (are) king for undergraduate engineering.

Now I’m definitely considering in applying to Harvey Mudd College. Thanks everyone! :)
