Hey CCers, I've been thinking about sending in an art supplement, but I'm not planning on majoring in art. I simply want to show admission councilors that art is a significant part of my life. However, I've never been one to compete, so it's difficult for me to gauge how mature my pieces are. What I'm about to post isn't really wholly representative of my portfolio (these are simply pictures that were on my desktop and I uploaded to flickr), but I figure showing you guys seven or so of my pieces can give you a good enough idea of whether I should submit or not. I'd prefer that those who answer my question actually have some form of experience with the arts or, even better, the common app art supplement.

Also, I wrote my common app essay about the significance of my plein air painting group, and two of the pieces posted on my flickr account (I think they're listed as "City Scene" and "Church Steeple") were done "en plein air".

Thanks for all your help!

EDIT: Also, don't be afraid to be brutally honest. Yes, art is very important to me, but I don't plan on majoring in the arts. You won't crush me if you say my work isn't great.

Also, the schools that I'm for sure applying to are: Reed College, Bowdoin College, University of Chicago, Grinnell College, Macalester College, Haverford College, Swarthmore College, and Lawrence University
