Strong foreign language depts at schools with generous merit scholarships???

Yes, keep investigating. It can be hard to find a particular program in your price range.

Has she looked into the [Critical Language Scholarship](Information for Applicants - Critical Language Scholarship Program)? I don’t know the details but I would assume that a student with your daughter’s current degree of proficiency in the language might be a viable candidate.

The scholarships are only for the study abroad portion of their studies, not for their UG.

If your D would be willing to work for federal government in national security for one year, this might be an option.

We talked about that, but we decided since she would have no control over where she went and with her health issues, it is probably not a good idea. If she were your typical healthy teen, I think it would be a decent option.

“With the state of the world, it is also surprising that many Russian dept’s are having their funding decreased.”
