Has she looked into the [Critical Language Scholarship](Information for Applicants - Critical Language Scholarship Program)? I don’t know the details but I would assume that a student with your daughter’s current degree of proficiency in the language might be a viable candidate.

If your D would be willing to work for federal government in national security for one year, this might be an option.
We talked about that, but we decided since she would have no control over where she went and with her health issues, it is probably not a good idea. If she were your typical healthy teen, I think it would be a decent option.
