strong history program?

does tufts have a strong history or english program? what is the avg class size?

I am an IR/English double major. I was going to be a History major but in the end picked English, but I have still taken (and continue to take) a good number of History classes. Tufts has a very strong English program -- I've loved all my lit and writing professors. The man who was going to be my major advisor for History, before I picked English, won the Pulitzer Prize last year for a biography of Oppenheimer. Though I'm no longer a major in his department, he is the most open, intelligent man I have met on campus. Another history prof I had is currently a Genius Grant recipient (aka, the MacArthur fellowship). Both departments are excellent.

oh wow.. thank you so much-- sorry, i was also wondering, do your professors invest a lot of time into the students? or are there more TAs that work with you?

I've never had a TA in English or History, there are some, but I don't know anyoen else who's interacted with them more than with their real professors.
