Strong literary/arts community?

No, and for that reason I wouldn’t recommend applying anywhere early decision. With your stats you willl almost certainly get into at least one merit-aid school and at least one need-based school and you owe it to yourself to wait and compare what they give you.

Thanks for all these suggestions. I think some of my criteria was misunderstood, so I’m going to revise the criteria a bit - let me know if there are any more schools:

a. strong creative writing AND visual arts community (extracurricular)
b. strong social sciences and literary programs (academic)
c. interdisciplinary approach; encourages and easily allows me to participate in literary communities, visual arts communities, and social sciences/literary majors
d. urban or somewhat developed surroundings
e. small-medium school, 2,000<x< 10,000
f. limited partying/drug-use scene (plus, fraternities and sororities don’t dominate campus life)

Well, if no one else will say it, I will: heck, with your stats I’d give Harvard and Yale a shot. They both have active literary and visual arts scenes; I’m pretty sure they’re <10,000 students (grad and undergrad) and I’m sure even they get tired of seeing nothing but future i-bankers applying each year. ;)
