I don't have a clear direction yet for what majors I'm interested, so I'm looking to apply to well rounded schools so I keep my options open. I know many liberal arts colleges are more limiting simply because they are smaller and have fewer professors, so I just want to get a clear idea of what Middlebury's strongest and weakest majors are.
Thanks!

Do you really have to post this for every top LAC? Much better to spend more time figuring out YOUR area of interest and checking out the websites, previous conversations out here about them, etc. than starting this discussion for every college. What do you care what the weakest majors are if you don’t have any idea which of the 30+ majors offered at all these colleges you are interested in? Get the College Board Book of Majors and figure out what your areas of interest are, then dig in on those.

There have been quite a few threads about science at Middlebury vs. other LACs so you might want to look for those. (The facilities at Midd are considered to be wonderful). Of course, Middlebury is always credited for being strong in languages and environmental science, but top LACs are all so well-rounded that this inquiry may not help you much which is what I guess the previous post is getting at. There are lots of economics major at Midd and the English department is supposed to be great.

Anything dealing with international studies, environmental studies or economics is pretty great at Middlebury. Math, art history, and sciences, while less well-known at Midd are still top notch.
