Anybody know the strength of the Structural Engineering program at Princeton, both undergrad and grad programs? Website claims it is "small but growing." Looking for a good program that melds architecture and engineering. Have seen the US New ratings, but any inside info would be appreciated.

[Civil and Environmental Engineering](Civil and Environmental Engineering) i’m a freshman and leaning towards civil/environmental engineering. Overall, Princeton is a top 15 engineering school and the BSEngineering classes are getting bigger, which means that the program will grow. Btw on the CEE site, you should find the civil engineering and architecture program.

When we went to visit it seemed like a big part of engineering at Princeton was “financial engineering” which to me is not really engineering. How many engineering students are there and what percentage are studying “financial engineering”?

After Financial Engineering, which are the bigger and smaller Eng. Depts?

I’m thinking that engineering must not be all that strong at Princeton based on level of participation on this string.

^ What a silly conclusion. Perhaps Princeton engineering students are studying, not hanging out on CC.

Financial Eng, or ORFE, is definitely not the traditional engineering department. Its good for a technical finance education that would prepare you well for Wall Street. After that, I would say Mechanical Engineering seems very popular, along with Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Comp Sci. Civil/Environmental is probably the least ‘popular’.

Thanks Netsman for your information. Helpful!
