Hi Group,
I'm currently running a program in Construction Engineering Management and I am planning of doing a masters degree in either Industrial Engineering or Structural Engineering field. I am interested in working in the oil and gas industry and would like to work offshore. Which of these two engineering fields is widely needed in the industry? Which of these would be my best option?

I believe your looking for either chemical engineering or petroleum engineering (dealing with the product). Otherwise if your interested in the design of oil derricks you will want to study both civil (structual engineering) and naval engineering & archetecture.

There is some construction engineering in the Petroleum Engineering major but I’m not sure how majoring in Construction Engineering Management would directly translate to working in the oil and gas industry. It seems to be a very general field.
