Hello CC. So recently Junior year was a blast yet a challenge. I joined wrestling and became more involved with the community. However, as time continues the sense of college haunts me. From my perspective I wish to attend UCSD, my dream college but my chances of getting accepted are slim. I have alternatives but being that my parents are non educated first generation, they will be disappointed if I do not. Here's the problem though. I like to learn. Grades do not matter to me. I'd rather learn the concept but I've seen many inflated grades and it upsets me. I see the teacher plays a huge role on grade as well. Many assume they will do well with different teachers and it can be proven correct. I myself have recently started a new term with all of the rigorous classes as well as wrestling practice and my grades are not stellar. So what can I do? I don't want to disappoint my parents honestly. I simply do not know what to do but stress.

First of all what is your GPA?

If you like to learn, spend more time studying and less time worrying about the unfair aspects of grading. If you are truly doing your best, what more can you do? If you aren’t, get going. Sports are not an excuse to blow off school work. If you need help to get organized or understand concepts, talk to your teachers and/or guidance counselor.
