<p>I know the Common App wants essays to be under 500 words, which is about a page. Georgetown just says essays should be about a page long. If my SFS essay is 750 words, is that too long? It's a little over a page at this point, and I'm going to try to cut it down where I can, but do you guys think 650-700 words would be acceptable?</p>

<p>That’s a bit too long. I’d recommend 500-600(650 maximum) words(Mine’s 579). So you might want to edit it a bit.</p>
<p>I submitted mine at 709 words. Didn’t finish it until today and didn’t have time to make it shorter. Hope the adcom gets to the end; it is the best part.</p>
<p>Yeah, I’ve read about many people who had like 750+ words and got in. I doubt the adcom will read like 300 and go "screw this!, so I think it should be fine as long as the essay’s good. Good luck, guys : ]</p>
