I've been on this site numerous times as a visitor in the past couple years searching here and there for answers and I've finally decided to make an account so, here I am and here's a little about me. I'm a recent high school grad, well I stopped taking classes in March, but I'll get my diploma near the ending of this month. I've taken a interest in computers... computer science to be precise and I've always had a passion for the life sciences, particularly biology and chem too I guess. I haven't received my acceptance letter as of yet but towards the end of this month of the first week of July I should get it and I've applied to 6 CUNY schools and I chose 3 of my majors as biotechnology and the other three as computer science. I want to work in the cyber security/ information assurance field if i choose to complete my major in computer science and hopefully work for the NSA. If I choose the biotech route I'd like to have a career in the synthetic biology, tissue and genetic engineering or stem cell and reproductive medicine areas working for the government (military) or a private biotech corp such as Amgen or Genentech. I'm pretty proficient in algebra and I like it and I'm decent with trig... geometry not so much never could remember all of those formulas. I also, consider myself pretty intelligent I also received a 99 on my English regents exam in 2012 I don't know if it was the highest or among the highest scores in the state for that exam. Ok, now here's my dilemma I had my eye on PINYU (NYU Poly) for some time now and I plan to transfer over for my sophomore year to continue my studies. Their computer science program is the best in NYC, well after Columbia University, but for cyber security IT IS THE BEST probably in NYS their biotechnology program is great too, probably better than University of Buffalo and RIT imo anyway. I'd like to hear suggestions from anyone who knows the scope for these two majors on which on to choose for future references in terms of salary and job security. The biotech industry is unstable and under fire due to ethics, rules and regulations, not to mention the funding or lack thereof. Whilst the NSA is being investigated and under fire itself for their leaked surveillance program(s). I'm not sure which major to choose due to the issues above, the NSA ordeal may blow over in time, but I'm not so optimistic about the biotech industry what's your perspective?

Also, I don't plan on going any further than a Master's degree, maybe a certificate, but that's it. I've research for quite some time about biotech and from what I've deduced is that in order to be successful in the life sciences math is needed more than the usual, maybe calc 3 & even ODE? I have no intention of going for an engineering degree... I'm not smart enough or that interested. I was thinking calc 1&2, biostatistics, bioinformatics should be all the math I'd need or use. Am I wrong or right? One more thing, does any one know if I can get a scholarship for my English regents exam score? If so where? Thank you all in advance for your wisdom and advice and taking the time out of your lives to help me.

) but I’m back again
