Stuck between 2-3 colleges, any help is greatly appreciated :-)

tl;dr warning
(college class of 2023, high school class of 2019)
Hey, I’ve been accepted into The University of Alabama, The University of Mississippi (ole miss), Penn State (Altoona), and Troy university (in Alabama). My grades aren’t amazing unlike my friends, so I applied to the Altoona campus of Penn State instead of the main campus because it was one of the first schools I applied to and I honestly wasn’t expecting to get in anywhere except Troy. I’m mainly between Ole Miss and Alabama, because 90% of my family lives in Alabama but I live in Florida, so it’s still out of state, like I want. I’m going to tour them both on Dec. 6-7, so I can go on official tours. I’ve been to Tuscaloosa several times for games before, because my family are all huge Alabama fans, and that sort of makes me not want to go there. I’m not sure if it’s just me or what, but when my whole family has loved Alabama football and the school forever, I feel like I’m conforming to their wishes, even if they say they’re happy wherever I go.

Here are some Pros and Cons of each;

PROS
Alabama:
-One of my close friends is going there so him and I would room together
-Family in-state in case of emergencies
-I do love Alabama, but the whole conforming to wishes thing ^^
-Beautiful campus, I spent a lot of time in Alabama growing up too so I know my way around the state fairly well
-the food options are really good

Ole Miss:
-Never been to Mississippi, but from what I can tell, the campus and Oxford is beautiful
-Somewhere new, I’ve never been before, it could be exciting (but so will wherever I go)
-(may be a bad reason) but I love the football uniforms and their colors and everything.
-Football team doesn’t have a reputation for winning, unlike at Alabama, where everyone will be salty if Alabama loses a big game or something
-(hopefully) Everyone doesn’t take the football and sports as seriously as they do at Bama

CONS
Alabama:
-the whole conforming to my family’s secret desires
-I want an out of state experience, and I feel like with my close family members being in the state <3 hours away won’t truly make it feel “out of state”
-Everyone I know assumes everyone that lives in Alabama has some sort of incestual relationship with one of their family members, which is really annoying

Ole Miss:
-A lot of racial controversy surrounding the school, and I don’t want to be perceived as racist just because I go there (or Bama)
-a big party school from what my friends tell me
-closest “big” city is Memphis, which according to Forbes is the fourth deadliest city in the country

BOTH:
-I’m really into computers and video games and “nerdy” stuff, so I don’t want to feel out of place because I don’t party and I don’t looove football and sports and outside stuff lol
-All of my best friends go to school here in Florida, so anywhere out of state means I’ll rarely get to see them

Note; a close relative of mine is a professor at Seminole State College here in Florida, and I could go there for free, but I’ve been wanting to go to school out of state for years now.

That’s it I think, if anyone wants to voice your opinion PLEASE do!!! Thanks in advance!

Are these schools affordable?

What’s wrong with your choices being aligned with your family wishes? You make it sound so negative.

Yes all of the schools I’ve gotten into my family can afford

There’s nothing wrong with it, I just feel like when my family says “we’re happy wherever you go” they secretly mean Alabama, because my family and I attended the Alabama game vs The Citadel last week, and when they were talking about stuff they I could tell they were sort of pushing for it

I went to college one hour away from one aunt, and the rest of my mom’s family was within three hours. I only saw them if I deliberately went to visit them on school breaks. So don’t worry about your relatives showing up on your doorstep every afternoon.

Go visit all of the places where you have been accepted in Alabama and Mississppu. While you are at it, pay a deliberate visit to the Florida college that you could attend for free. Pop up to Altoona on a cold snowy day and see what you think about that. You don’t need to make a decision just yet. Wait until you have collected all the information.
