So I'm a freshman (technically I'm a former dual enrollee coming in with my AA, but that's not the point.) and I'm in the pre-health LLC so I've been assigned to Reynolds.

I was assigned a triple dorm which I wasn't too thrilled about but I wanted to make the best of it. I contacted my roommates almost a month ago and neither of them replied to my message. I mean I know roommates don't have to be the best of friends or anything but I wanted at least a cordial relationship with them since we have to live with each other for a school year.

Now because of this, I'm kind of dreading going to school in August, which pretty sucks since I love FSU so much. Anyone have any advice about the situation or about living in a triple in particular? I know I haven't moved in yet so things may change but I just don't want it to turn out to be a problem where I end up moving out.

How did you contact them? Not everyone checks their email or goes on facebook all the time. They might be away for the summer. Most likely they aren’t ignoring you, why would anyone want to start off a relationship on that note? Try to reach them again, maybe with a phone call. You will need to work out details about what each of you are bringing, there is no room for 3 microwaves or 3 televisions! I would also call FSU Housing and ask them if by any chance either of them have been switched out of your room. I don’t think they will notify you with a new roommate’s information automatically.

Don’t go to school with a negative attitude. If you end up not liking your situation after you have been there for a while, you can always ask for a transfer.

Good luck!

If you contacted them w fsu email there is a chance they don’t check it regularly. Try finding them on FB that’s how my roommates found me.

I contacted them on facebook, but I don’t think they’re away on vacation, but even if they are they update their pages regularly. I was able to add one of them on facebook but she still won’t talk to me.

That’s weird to be honest. Did you send them a message through Facebook when you added them? Or did you add them w/out leaving a message. One of my roommates contacted me through email and the other through FB and left a message in my FB inbox. I don’t understand why they aren’t making an effort at all.

Yikes. That is a little weird. I was also in a triple in Reynolds in the Pre-Health LLC for 2010-2011.

I added one girl on Facebook and sent her a message. The other girl doesn’t allow you to friend request her, she has to friend request you so I just sent her a message
