Stuck on how to write my essay?

I am planning on applying as a Transfer for Fall 2014, and I am stuck on my 'community' essay.

I know there are probably a lot of people writing on this topic, but I was thinking about writing about my ethnicity, as opposed to a club/organization I belong to. I didn't do much volunteering in high school, and now I have even less time to do that.

Do you guys think it would be a good idea to write about my "journey"?

A community doesn’t have to be something official, so an ethnic/racial background or community would work just fine. As far as a “journey,” goes, just make sure you can write about it briefly, as in keeping it close to the word limit.

If you write about something big like a community centered around a common ethnic background, I’d make sure to include some specific experience

I’d say it depends on how big of an impact your ethnicity actually has on you. If you really feel like there is a special something to write about then go ahead and try a rough draft.

I don’t know much about what other kids have written on their essays. but i do have a few ideas about what i wanted to write about. what do you mean when you say “journey”? do you mean how your ethnicity shaped your life? expound, brah.

my answer to that question was sort of abstract but did answer the question.
