Stuck on which Uni to choose

(My bad if this has already been rehashed thousands of times, but with that new search feature they've got, it really discourages sifting through countless threads).

Anyway, here's my situation. I'm a current active-duty member in the US Navy, and in the process of applying to an officer accession program that places me into ROTC. I want to persue a degree in physics, and I'm not overtly concerned with prestige, but I do want to go to a decent school in the 10-15k tuition range (which is what I'll be given from them for costs). Does anybody know of any good places on the East coast (with ROTC units, mind you) that fit into that price range & have a reasonable sciences dept.?
I had FSU in mind, though I'd like multiple opinions if possible.

I should also mention that I already have 35 credits from attending UF back in 2005-2006, and no, I don't plan on returning there, ever.

Much obliged!

Have you/ will you have served 3 years of active duty? If so, wouldn't the post 9/11 GI Bill cover you no matter the cost?

I am ineligible for the GI Bill as part of the Seaman-to-Admiral program, which, essentially, keeps you at your active duty paygrade (w/ benefits), gives you $10k/year for tuition and fees, and a 3 year time period to complete a degree, at no cost to you (though, you can't use tuition assistance, the GI Bill, or get ROTC scholarships). I'd have to be out of the service to use the GI Bill, which is in 2012.

Ah that's not a bad program though!

Presumably you're from Florida already, since you went to UF, and now are looking at FSU. Due to the price restraints, FSU may well be the best bet for you (especially if you're a Football fan!).

Sorry I can't be of more help.

FSU is probably going to be your best bet if you don't want UF. These days you won't be finding a better school out of state for 15k. There is also UCF and other florida state schools but they are inferior and I'm not sure they offer ROTC. Do you get the instate tutition at any school? Because that would open up a lot more options...

Florida State has the National High Magnetic Field Lab (see: National High Magnetic Field Laboratory ) and has an excellent, nationally ranked physics program (see: FSU Highlights ). So you have respected national prestige in physics at rock-bottom Florida university prices. ;) (Get it while it lasts)

While this may not matter too much to you, the FSU ROTC program is one of very few ROTC programs permitted to fly a battle streamer - see: History of Florida State University - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Good luck.

Would you prefer Navy ROTC or Army ROTC?
