I got a flyer in the mail for some student advantage card. (website here: Student Advantage Discount Card - Save money during college ) Is it worth it?

looks like a scam, but i’ve never seen it before so i can’t really say. do some research on this thing and post what you know.

No, chances are you will never use it.

I got it and might have used it once, if that.

Yeah i just looked into it actually and it’s not a scam as i stated above lol but it COULD be useful to the right person

If any of you plan to frequently use Greyhound or Amtrak for transportation, the cost of the card if worthwhile. But if you’re just doing end of semester trips…not so much. My DS used to use one when he traveled across the state every weekend. In that case, it was worthwhile. Don’t think he used the promo aspect of it; just the transportation discount.

I got this in the mail today. I’m not doing it for two reasons: a lot of similar discounts can be found with your Mcard, I would think AND I’m the kind of person who would forget about it within a week never to be used again.

My mom and I decided to use it because that 45 over four years will be helpful for discounts on once-per-month trips home by Amtrak (my family is really close-knit and important to me). Without the discount, once-per-month trips would mean at least $200 a year! With a 15% discount we save $30 in a year on transportation alone. So if you use Amtrak or Greyhound a lot, and already are familiar with the companies listed on [Student Advantage Discount Card](http://www.studentadvantage.com/content/?id=762) , i say go for it.
