Student Answer Service

or whatever it is called...the thing where it tells you what type of questions you got wrong.

when should we expect to get this if we ordered it upon registration for the april sat?

Hmm...bump

I'm guessing right after the scores become available, which may be in June.

:( Too long, right? I know.

I haven't ordered this yet... to anyone that had used it before: how helpfull is it actually? Is it worth getting?

It's not really helpful in my opinion, because if you have an idea on which questions you got incorrect, then just be sure next time you take the test, that you don't make the same careless mistakes.

Personally, I wouldn't order that.

That was pretty much what I thought...
I just wanted another opinion before not ordering it, so thank you!

i ordered when i registered for the april test.

you mean i have to wait till june to get my answers??!?

they take a while =P

But it sucks because we don't get our own booklet back and the explanation for the one we got wrong

Personally, I liked this service when combined with the Question & Answer service because then you get your booklet, correct answers (no explanations though), and the answers you put down.

When I saw what types of mistakes I was mostly making (like grid-in) I concentrated on that.

However, the Q & Aservice isn't available for all the test dates.. I don't think it is in June. So then, the Student Answer Service becomes a lot less helpful since you can't get the booklet.

For the May test date the question and answer service is available. That means you can get the test booklet and answer sheet. For those who want rescoring, the best time to do it would be the dates with the question and answer servie because you could see what you got wrong, and you would know if it matched up with what your score report said. On all other dates when you request rescoring, you dont see anything. Collegboard retrieves your answer sheet and some type of stencil that they match to it to see if they reported your score corretly, but you only get a written notice if they found erros. The erros 4.000 errors that were recently found were made on a date when the question and answer service were available. There are no published statistics as to whether anyone who ever requested rescoring on a date other than the incident in October actually had their score changed.
Another thing many do not know is that when one arranges to have an essay rescored, it is not re-read. All that Collegeboard will do is check to see if the score the two readers gave was inputted correctly. They feel they have a built in check for reader scores. If you feel your essay was not graded failrly there is nothing you can do.
My understanding is that if one has not ordered the quetsion and answer service for the May SAT they can do it when the score report is sent out. There is a form that students can fill out. One can order the service for a period of up to five months after the exam. It usually takes about five weeks for it to be sent.

is this the service we signed up for when we do the test registration? Or do we have to order it again?

If you did not sign up for it when you registered, you can order it again when the score report comes

When should i expect to get it for the April 06 SATs?

It's not available for the April test.

I think you are talking about the Question and Answer Service, i'm asking about SAS which is just the responses. Each testing date has one or the other but not both

Oh, sorry! I did think you meant the QAS.

I got it much later after the scores were mailed to us... can't remember the exact date.

QAS and SAS are both available for some dates. I got it for the January one... and I also ordered both for the May one.

I just received my SAS report today in the mail. I, too, ordered it at the time of registration.

I just got mine today as well for the April exam.

hmm. then maybe i should check my mail today...

I got SAS and it is COMPLETLEY USELESS

is there anyway i can get the booklet for April test? I feel cheated out of my $10
