student at uci majoring in public health science

Hey guys! so I’m currently enrolled at uci as a public health science major and my ultimate goal is to get into PA school(physician assistant). Right now, I’m taking chem1a, biosci93, and publichealth1. I feel like biology and chemistry is too fast-paced for me since it’s a quarter system. I would like to switch my major to public health policy and then take the pre requisites for pa school at a community college run by a semester system. I think public health policy is pretty relevant to the healthcare field which might make me a more unique candidate?(not sure) but I would plan to do this after I get my bachelors degree or maybe towards my third or fourth year as I’d also have the chance to accumulate healthcare experience on the side(as a CNA since patientcare experience is vital). I really don’t want to make the wrong choice. I’m fresh out of high school and this is all really new to me, I’m already certified as a cna which is a plus.

i’d suggest you visit the academic and career advising offices on campus. A visit to a couple of schools that offer the PA program will also help you plan.
