student body questions - how permissive?

<p>so how permissive/liberal are people generally? is georgetown really catholic? it seems like this is asked every now and then and each time the answer is kinda fuzzy to me, like "Nah not really, but hmm actually..." you get the idea. i just want the lowdown.</p>

<p>things i'm wondering about are sex, drugs, religion, sexualities, etc. I definitely want to be with a group of hard working people who care a lot about what they're studying, but I'm also looking for intense play hard side of things too, and I really don't want too much morality to get in the way. Sorry if that offends anyone... truly sorry. I got accepted, so i'm wondering if it's a good match for me.</p>

<p>And if you think I'm a person who does all these things, I actually don't really. i don't drink and party ever, and don't screw around 24/7. I'm just wondering how forward-thinking or conservative people tend to be at georgetown.</p>

<p>Well, judging from my sister's experience, Georgetown kids are no strangers to partying... :-) However, that doesn't make them any less ridiculously smart and focused. And they have, like, academic drinking games... I won't go into detail, but I have heard some incredibly entertaining stories. </p>

<p>It seems like a pretty good balance to me. My sister did a lot of crazy things during her three-and-a-half years as an undergrad and still managed to graduate (either summa or magna - whichever is the second highest) cum laude a semester early.</p>
