What are the students running for? Why do I not know who the student president or any student leader on campus are?

Why is this sound like high school ASB where it seems like student government have no power?

USAC has a $3 million dollar budget. There is power. It means something.

There are two parties, Bruins United and Students First. Bruins United is the "conservative" one, primarily white and rich Asian students. Pro cutting unnecessary services, pro conservative economics, pro campus bar. Groups like Bruins Republicans, Hillel, Bruins for Israel, greek system, even Bruin Democrats support them. Students First is the lefty diversity slate with black, hispanic,a nd poor asians., pro gay, pro affirmatiove action.. support from Queer Alliance, MECHA, Samahagn filipinos, muslims tudent association those kinda groups.

There are many positions.. all are kinda BS. the most important positions are president, external vice preisdent, and general represenatativel. EVP and gen reps do the policy, while the preisdent is a figurehead who appoints a very important cabinet

most students dont care,a dn those that do depend on their slate (white frat boy will go for bruins united, filipino kid from nor cal is gonna go students first).

I used to vote for Bruins United until I stopped giving a damn about USAC elections. Even if one party wins, the opposition party becomes annoyingly vocal and becomes the "people's underdog" for the rest of the school year.

...i hadn't even heard of the two parties til just now.
man, i must be living with my head in the sand... funny thing is, it's not at all intentional...

bruins united did row walk last week and they're coming again this week. students first did not.

its nice to put a voice and body and personality to the name

Bruins United? Sounds like a soccer team...

only joking. :p

At any rate, I wasn't aware of the two parties either.

dudes. i cant believe gabe won. i mean, im glad he did. but whoa.

he's a nice guy though. he lives w some of my friends.

Yeah, especially since SF campaigned a LOT. I didn't really see Bruins United out there as much, but I'm glad that they didn't try to follow me to class at least.

yeah i saw SF every day when walking to class. all i know about BU is that they were giving out free lemonade :D

I noticed how heavily SF was campaigning, too (it was much more even between the slates last year as far as presence on campus). Frankly, it was pretty obnoxious.

Although I have to say that I really leaned more with BU for almost everything. So yay I guess. I'm really happy that Gabe won. I haven't been happy with Marwa. She's pretty ineffective at....everything.

Mario activated the Green Switch Palace on Bruin Walk.

^ lol

. . . .
