Student clubs

What clubs are good to try dabbling in to gain mindfulfilling ourside classes while the day is still young ?
Advice for a freshman carrying five burgeoning classes who wants to explore opportunities on campus.

(I'm posting the more "well-known" clubs)

Publications:
Spectator
Blue and White
The Fed
a few other literary/scientific/political publications out there too (not as well known)

Political:
College Dems/Republicans
Columbia Political Review

I'd also recommend stuff like Parliamentary Debate, MUN, Community Impact, Quiz Bowl, CTV, WKCR (all of which you can control your own level of involvement, I believe). Mock Trial's cool, but a big time commitment...

If you're into theater at all -- Varsity Show (even if you don't think you're talented enough to act/dance/sing/write for it -- try stage crew or technical crew). Your chance to dabble in theater (as long as you don't take on positions with super-big time commitments).

A bunch of activism clubs are out there as well.

Check out the activities fair tomorrow (Low Steps - 12 to 3)!

the activities fair is the absolutely best place to find out about clubs. if you don't go, you're missing one of the most important parts of freshman year.

sign up for the ultimate frisbee team if you're in decent shape, it's the most fun club sport. It's athletic and the team is competitive, but they're not hardasses.

frisbee! that's what I did yesterday :-)
