Student Contribution

Thank you usafa2011dad. I understand

so i am coming in as a sophomore and cornell wants 2990 from me and 1000 and 1000 each semester for work study :(

Are these numbers standard?

That sounds about right Castiel. Last year work study was 900/semester and $2930 was the contribution amount for sophomores. So the contribution went up a little and they are allowing you to earn a little more with work study

It is not all so straight forward. At the beginning if the term in Aug you receieve a bill usually due in Sept unless you elected to spread the billing. Usually the tuition for your major/dept and housing dining if applicable. Throughout the term you may also get extra dings for departmental fees, about $300 based on major, net print fees which may be $20-40, fees for supplies for particular art courses $300-$400, if you take music lessons $300-$600. If an arch major $200-$400 a month for additional materials and supplies. You are lucky to get by with just that student contribution… The work study is paid as wages every 2 weeks.
